I learned from TESOL's business course that the definition of business negotiation is that both parties will reach and be satisfied with each other's quotation and reach a win-win agreement.

Business negotiation has three parts, prenegotiation, negotiation, and final decision. At the same time, there are eight standard stages in business negotiation. Prenegotiation: before the talks begin, we should start to provide an introduction of yourself and your company. Having a small conversation with your client or customer will build a positive first impression and the opportunity for a longterm relationship. After that, setting the negotiation objectives is a crucial element before the form negotiation. In more detail, both parties should understand the primary goal and process of the talks with clear directions.


Negotiation: on the other hand, presenting the negotiation agenda or structure will provide specific detail for both sides to review and preparing the negotiation progress. For example, having a clear negotiation schedule will allow the presenter to review their insights or general ideas. The other party will have the opportunity to engage with the presenter for a deep understanding of the activity. Furthermore, set up the proper timing is essential for a business negotiation process. Individuals with a clear schedule and plan could bring an effective interaction or participation during the negotiation. For instance, both parties will recognize when to start, pause, and end the discussion.


Next, each party's position will give both sides an even more direct and clear path in which they feel comfortable about their decisions and solutions. However, conflicts could appear anytime and anywhere; managing conflicts is significant for guiding a positive negotiation environment. After managing the match, the negotiation will start to shift to bargain and compromise. This step will allow both parties to finalize their decision and forming the detail of the final agreement.


Final decision: finally, both parties will conclude and feel satisfied with each other's offers to have a win-win situation agreement.
